🥗 사이버/테크노 페미니즘 토크: 페미니스트 서버란 무엇인가요?

"페미니스트, 퀴어 그리고 가부장제에 반대하는 사람들을 위한 서버"인 시스터 서버(https://systerserver.net/)의 시스템 관리자(sysadmin)인 마라 카라지아니(Mara Karagianni)가 우루루를 방문합니다. 시스터 서버는 자유 및 공개 소프트웨어(FOSS)를 사용하여, 페미니스트들에 의해서 운영됩니다. 이 서버는 시스템 관리 기술을 익히기 위한 장소이면서, 사용자를 위한 실질적인 서비스가 제공되는 공간이며, 다른 모든 이들에게도 이러한 체제에 대한 영감을 주기 위한 장소이기도 합니다.

마라는 페미니스트 서버란 무엇이고, 어떻게 생겨나게 되었는지로 이야기를 시작합니다. 페미니스트 서버는 페미니스트 교수법(pedagody)을 따르면서 시스템 관리 기술을 배울 수 있는 안전한 공간입니다. 오늘의 FOSS(자유 및 오픈 소프트웨어) 공동체가 벗어나지 못하고 있는 백인 시스 남성의 단문화(mono-culture)에 저항하며, 기술에 대한 비판적 태도를 가지는 것, 그리고 페미니스트 서버가 포용하고자 하는 연대는 무엇인지 이야기합니다. 이어서, 페미니스트 서버를 운영하는데 도움이 되는 기술 문서부터 커뮤니티 가이드라인에 이르는 다양한 진과 문서들을 소개하고, 그동안 열렸던 사이버 페미니즘 페스티발, 워크숍, 오프라인 공간 등도 소개합니다.

오☁️완 03 Cyber/Techno Feminism Talk: What is a feminist server?

Mara Karagianni (they/them), the sysadmin of the Syster Server which is a server for feminists, queers, and people against the patriarchy (https://systerserver.net/), will be visiting Ururu in Seoul! The Syster Server is run by feminists, using free and open software (FOSS). The server is a place to learn system administration skills, a place where day-to-day services are provided for users, and a place to inspire others to do the same.

Mara Karagianni is an artist and a technologist. Mara works with computer and analog media, whether it's publishing and print-making, programming in Python, creating technical user manuals, or writing about the internet, Free and Open Software (FOSS) and feminism.

Mara starts by explaining what a feminist server is and how it came about. They introduces us to feminist servers, as safe spaces to learn about system administration skills with a feminist pedagogy. We talk about the possibilities for a critical attitude towards technology and solidarity that a feminist server embraces, resisting the white, cis male mono-culture that the free and open software (FOSS) community is still struggling with today. They'll then introduce a range of zines and documents, from technical documentation to community guidelines, to help you run a feminist server, and showcase some of the cyberfeminist festivals, workshops, and offline spaces that have been organized.

오☁️완

'오늘 운동 완료!'를 의미하는 말인 오운(🏃‍♀️)완은 오늘의 안녕을 스스로 점검하는 것이면서, 오늘의 할 일을 해냈다는 자부심의 선언이기도 하고, 오늘을 함께 사는 누군가에게 건네는 초대이기도 합니다.

구름 운雲의 오운(☁️)완은 구름이라는 개념 아래 오늘 우리가 살아가고 있는 여러가지 상황들을 지시합니다. 나와 너, 우리를 매개하는 클라우드와 인터넷, 반려종이자 사이보그인 우리들의 몸과 그 주변 생태계, 기후위기를 겪고 있는 지표면의 날씨와 환경, 전쟁과 빈곤과 혐오가 끊이지 않는 지정학적 위기 등...

이제 구름은 일상이 되어가고 있지만, 그럼에도 불구하고, 우리가 함께 했을때 조금 더 나은 미래가 가능하지 않을까요? '오늘 운동 완료!'를 외치는 몸이 하루 아침에 만들어지는 것이 아니듯, 서두르지 않는 마음으로 길고 긴 터널과도 같은 시간을 함께 지나며, 읽고△만들고△움직이며 다른 존재가 되어가는 여정에 초대합니다. 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟

O'un (🏃‍♀️) wan, which means "Today's workout is done!" is a self-check of one's well-being, a declaration of pride in having accomplished today's tasks, and an invitation to share today's workout with someone else. In the O'un (☁️) wan, with the letter 雲(cloud), the concept of clouds dictates the different circumstances we find ourselves in today: the cloud networks and the Internet that mediate between me and you and us, our bodies as companion species and cyborgs and the ecosystems around us, the weather and environment on the surface of the earth in the midst of a climate crisis, geopolitical crises with wars, poverty, and hatred... Clouds are becoming a part of our daily lives, but nonetheless, wouldn't be a better future possible when we come together? Just as a body that shouts proudly "Today's workout is done!" doesn't happen overnight, we invite you to join us on this long journey through the tunnel, of reading, creating, moving, and becoming a different being. 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
