프린터가 제대로 작동하지 않아 고생해 본 적이 있나요? 물론이죠! :)
프린터는 일상에서 제대로 작동하지 않는 기술의 가장 흔하면서도 가장 짜증나는 사례이죠. 프린터가 인쇄 작업을 원래 의도한 대로 수행하지 못하는 상황을 누구나 경험해 봤을 거에요.
프린터는 사용자에게 끊임없이 좌절감을 주는 기술로 보입니다. 요악(joak)은 지난 몇 년간 이 문제를 연구해 왔으며, 이번 강연에서는 일상에서 맞닥뜨리는 프린터 문제들에 대한 예비적인 해답을 보여준다고 합니다.
요악(joak)은 여러 개조된 인쇄 장치들과 이를 퍼포먼스 도구로 활용하는 방법을 소개합니다. 이러한 접근들에 있어서, 프린터는 고립된 기술이 아닌 하나의 연주 도구로도 이해될 수 있습니다.
결국 인쇄는 즐거워야 합니다.

🪶 요악(요셉 크니어징거)은 폐기된 미디어/기술/쓰레기를 활용해 시대착오적이고 허구적인 타임라인을 만들어 나가고 있는 예술가이다. 유머와 아이러니는 그의 작업에서 중요한 방법론이다. 그는 구성물, 장치, 게임, 설치물, 개입, 악기, 강연, 퍼포먼스, 렉쳐-퍼포먼스, 악보, 소프트웨어를 작업해 왔다. 그는 오스트라아 린츠 소재의 '투척 도자기 센터(Zentrum für Wurfkeramik)'의 멤버로 활동하며 다양한 비논리적 사고(alogisms)와 알고리즘을 연구한다. 현재 고장난 프린터로 작업 중이며 기생적 연구소 '고장난 미디어 랩(Broken Media Lab)'을 설립 중이다.

"Why do printers never work?"

Have you ever dealt with a printer that just wouldn’t work? Yes, of course! :) 
The printer is the most pervasive (and frustrating) example of technology that doesn't work in our everyday lives. Everyone knows the situation where a printer doesn't do what was originally intended with the print job.
Printers seem to be the technology that continuously causes frustration among users. joak has been researching this issue over the last years, and in this lecture, we’ll get a preliminary answer to our daily printer frustrations.

Furthermore,  joak will present several modified printing devices and how they can be used as a performative device. With this approach, printers are not understood as isolated technologies but as an instrument. 
After all, printing should be fun. 

joak (Joseph Knierzinger) s an artist working with obsolete media/technologies/trash to create anachronistic, fictitious timelines.  Humor and irony is an important method in his undertakings. He creates compositions, devices, games, installations, interventions, instruments, lectures, performances, performance-lectures, scores and software. He is member of the Zentrum für Wurfkeramik and work on different alogisms and algorithms in Linz (AT). He is busy with broken printers at the moment and is starting the parasitic institute “Broken Media Lab.”
